Hello. I’m Dot.

I’ve been teaching and performing for most of my life. I am proud to say that I am capable of helping you grow and progress on your instrument (all while having a good time) no matter what your aspirations are.

As a teacher, I started in high school, teaching at a local camp for children with disabilities. I have been helping people find joy and satisfaction in music since.

Whether you are picking up an instrument for the first time, or you are seeking to excel further as a professional musician, I look forward to helping you achieve beyond your expectations.

I have been receiving lessons from Dot for about 15 months in order to make my own ukulele arrangements of favorite songs. I feel lucky to get private instruction from them! I especially like their willingness to follow my interests in a very individualized way, the emphasis on making music joyful, and their deep knowledge of music theory and technique. I also find their teaching style super helpful in conveying difficult concepts. Definitely five stars!

Dot is a wonderful teacher! I have been studying guitar with them once a week for the last six months. I am a professional musician, so I am picky about my teachers. Dot's teaching is tailored to my specific goals and strengths. I have learned quite a bit from Dot about reducing tension, and this helps me in my singing and violin playing as well as with guitar. And we have a ton of fun! We recently started doing lessons on Zoom, and the quality of the lessons has not been reduced.

Dot is a fantastic teacher. Dot took my ill-formed New Years resolution to learn to play the Ukulele and helped me chart a path -- assisting me in buying an instrument, working through basic mechanics, coaching me on how to practice, offering tons of encouragement, and sprinkling music theory along the way. Dot's enthusiasm is infectious. Couldn't be happier.
